I originally bought the Project Rock Training shoes to have a pair of shoes I could both run and weightlift in. That kind of shoe is incredibly hard to find because there’s not many with the ankle support and flexibility to both run and weight lift. So, I was very excited to find these shoes, especially since they’re from my favorite celebrity. Now I’ll explain the pros and cons of these shoes and my complete unbiased opinion.

Project Rock Shoes-2

The pic above is from Instagram. Follow me HERE.

These shoes are very comfortable, not only when running, but also for everyday use like walking round. The mesh fits nice and tight which keeps support throughout all exercises. I also love the color of the shoes, mine are a nice navy blue. They blend well with most colors even opposites like red. On top of those things the shoes carry with them the movement that Dwayne “the Rock” Johnson started, and that is the movement and attitude that you can do anything if you push your self to be the hardest worker in the room.

I love these shoes, but like every revolutionary product it has bugs. The first one I noticed happened roughly three weeks after use when the sole disconnected from the bottom, and this with just normal weight lifting and cardio. The other issue I’ve had is that two and half to three months in the mesh has started to curl outwards. This makes running long distance or weight exercises like squatting, calf raises, and lunges a little more difficult on the ankles.

For as long as I’ve known what good shoes felt like, Under Armour has been my favorite brand. This shoe only confirms my thoughts on the company. So, if these mild issues could be fixed, the Project Rock Training Shoes would be the absolute best shoes for experienced weight lifters and new lifters alike. Thier flexibility also allows them to be wonderfully comfortable running shoes.

Hi, I’m Abishai. I’m 13 years old, and, believe it or not, I am going to tell you how to become a physicist. Now I know it’s weird. You might be thinking, “What can a 13 year old tell me about becoming a physicist?” Well, more than you think, so let’s jump right into this awesomeness.

What I’m about to tell you are the steps to success that I’m following today. I recently got interested in physics, specifically quantum physics. When I told my dad what I’m interested in he gave me a piece of paper with a step by step process everything I need to become an expert in anything I want. Now, I will spread that success all around to everybody.

Step one: identify your topic- This means find the specific branch of physics you want to study, because there are tons of different types of physics (fusion physics, quantum physics, relativity physics, etc.).

Step two: Find out what your goal is with this topic. – Do you want to become famous or maybe a pro at this topic?

Step three: Check Wikipedia for your topic. – Go to Wikipedia and get a basic understanding of your topic.

Step four: There are two options here. You can both abandon your topic and find a new one or keep looking and researching your topic.

Step five: assemble resources. – This is where you split off in five different ways. 1. Is there a professional association. 2. Continue to web search it, 3.check pop culture, 4.find texts, and 5.find a practitioner.

New Topic Flowchart

Above are the step by step instructions to success made by my father and posted in his book, Rapid Skill Development 101.

Step six: after you go down all those rabbit holes, you Get to Work.

Step seven: this is where you split to either Get an Education on your topic or Get Experience on your topic.

Step eight: specialize or generalize – Specialize, means to concentrate on and become an expert in your branch of physics. Generalize, means to follow your branch of physics more widely or generally.

Step nine: this is the final step. – You have to believe and realize that you are now an expert in your chosen branch of physics.

This is the best and fastest way to make yourself an expert in anything not just physics. So if God does not call you to be a physicist then use these steps to become what God wants you to be.

Note from Dad- I’m loving this new punishment system my wife and I are trying out. Making Abishai write essays is both educational and punitive. Here’s another one he wrote. This time, he went swimming with some friends without asking and also riding his bike to the pool in the first place without his helmet. I made him go through two drafts for this, but if you see any grammatical errors and such, he’s obviously missing some of my corrections.

Hi, my name is Abishai. Today I’m going tell you about child safety and the reasons it’s important. Child safety in my opinion is what saves lives.

You know what else saves lives? Helmets. Every year all over the world over 300,000 kids take a visit to the emergency room because they weren’t wearing a helmet while biking. Just like Bill Clinton said, “There is nothing more precious to a parent than a child, and nothing more important to our future than the safety of our children.” if you think about it helmets could save the future.

The reason I’m writing this is because I did not do what my parents said and went biking without a helmet. I Know what you’re all thinking, “Oh but I thought he was perfect and all.” Well guess what? I’m not. In fact, nobody is. Tell me that you have never ridden your bike at least once just because you thought it would be fun at the time but then realized “Oh wait, did I forget something? Oh yeah, my helmet, that thing that helps me from getting, you know, concussions, permanent brain damage, contusions, ABD, and over five different types of trauma and syndromes.”

I know that everybody likes lists, so here are five reasons why you should wear helmets…

  1. It protects your head.
  2. When it is raining it makes it easier to see.
  3. In some states it is actually illegal to bike without a helmet.
  4. You set an example for other kids nearby to wear their helmets.
  5. You can avoid big medical bills.

So now, off the topic of helmets and onto a different child safety topic, swimming. It is a topic that most parents would like to avoid so that they don’t have even think about the possibility of their kid drowning? It is a possibility, and you should be prepared to be able to help your child if he or she starts to drown. The best way to be ready is that you should know CPR for both infants and older children because, believe it or not, there is a difference between the ways you do it. Over three thousand kids die every year because of drowning. Another way you can be prepared is to be sure that your child does indeed know how to swim because that could save your child’s life. Also make sure that you know how to swim because you being able to swim could also save your child’s life, because if you know how to swim then you could save him or her from drowning. Not only can CPR save your child, but if you are at a public pool where there is no lifeguard on duty and if some other parent there needs your help then you are now equipped to help them since you know CPR. At that point you’re the neighborhood superhero and the parents of the child you saved will probably bake you a cake or pie which would also be pretty awesome. So not only could knowing CPR save your child and other people’s child, but you could become famous.

Now onto household rules. Here are some house rules in my family…

  • no running in the house
  • no food or drinks in the living room
  • no wrestling without permission
  • no going outside until school is done
  • school ends at three pm and no earlier
  • snacks are at ten and three not any time you want
  • no horse play around sharp corners

Those are some of our house rules. Now I’m sure you have some house rules yourself. I would love to hear about them. One time we were having a rubber band fight in our house, and it was really fun until CRASH! My brother’s head went right into the corner of the wall. They had to take him to the hospital, and he got three staples in his head. Then another time I was running in the house, and I ran into something and got a black eye it was really painful.

Here is another subject that is not a good conversation starter. What if one day little Timmy went out to play and you told him come back in an hour and three hours later he is nowhere to be seen? In my family we call it check-ins, because that is something that no parent wants to ever even dream about.

My last subject is bullying, which is something that happens in most schools all the way from elementary to college. Bullying is 40% of the reason for youth suicides in America. Over 4000 kids commit suicide each year because of bullying.

Well that’s that. I covered four different types of child safety problems and presented a solution for you, so go forth and live long and prosper.

PS- If you need help learning CPR for pool season contact my dad at

Note from Dad- This blog post started out as a punishment for my 12yo. Abishai came in 10 minutes late for a check-in, so he had to write a 500 word essay on “being positive” as the punishment. Of course, he hated the idea at first. Then, once he started researching and reading about positive thinking, he asked me if he could do a longer write-up and post it to his blog. That’s how a punishment should work every time, but so often doesn’t.

Hi, my name is Abishai. Today is all about positive thinking.

Positive thinking is a mental attitude in which you expect good and favorable results. In other words, positive thinking is the process of creating thoughts that create and transform energy into reality. A positive mind waits for happiness, health and a happy ending in any way. Basically, positive thinking is completely up to you as a person. It’s not like someone can just give you positive thinking. That’s just not how it works here on earth.

If you think someone gave you positivity then one of you probably needs some mental help. Positive thinking is something you can teach, but it shows great self-control if you can teach yourself. Although, if you need help learning, there are people who specialize in that exact thing.

Some synonyms for positivity are optimistic, enthusiastic, good, productive, encouraging, worthwhile, practical, approving, beneficial, certain, sure, convinced, confident, satisfied, and assured. Now think, what do all of those words have in common, oh wait, I know. They all mean the same thing positivity. Here I was thinking I wasn’t smart.

Now this is going to be a little weird, but hippies, almost everyone hates them, but one thing that I like about them is that they believe in peace. I mean it is basically their entire life. Without peace (here’s that word again) and positivity the world would already be in World War XV and counting. So it turns out hippies aren’t all bad. It just makes me want to dislike them a little less. Now you may not have heard of this before or maybe you have, but, there is this thing out there called WORLD PEACE. Now I know what you’re thinking “I know all about world peace.” Well guess what, you don’t!

You know that word positivity I keep using, well what if I told you that it could most literally change the world. Think if everyone including the government practiced positivity the world would be better in general. And I mean every country in the world. Positive thinking could save the world. That would be the full extent of the power of positive thinking. In my opinion, if I had to pick one superpower it would be the power of positive thinking because it would change the world. So that means I could change the world. Having a positive outlook is the same thing as having a bright outlook. Because if you think positively the whole world just looks brighter. Otherwise the whole world just looks gloomy in your eyes.

Now I have a story about myself about positive thinking. So now for the last three birthdays I’ve had, I have raised a little over $2,000 for a charity called Charity Water. They dig wells for clean water in a lot of different countries where people don’t have access to clean water and thousands are dying because of water diseases.  So with the money I raised for them they were able to build over five wells in three different countries. How do think Charity Water came to be, I’ll give you a hint. It’s that word I keep using… Positive thinking what did I tell you positive thinking is slowly but surely saving the world. They are coming up with a way to pump and cleanse salt water so that it is drinkable without the side effects of regular salt water. And I intend to donate more birthdays to this awesome act of positive thinking (

There are people out there that are trying to help with world hunger in countries where people don’t have enough money to buy food. I actually was able to meet one of them he came, and spoke at our church, and he was the most positive person ever. He was really cool. I met a bunch of other guys that do flying mission trips to deliver food and first aid kits. So there are tons of people all around the world that are trying to change it through positive thinking and God, because guess who created positive thinking? That’s right. You guessed it God.

Think about it. Adam and Eve could have a terrible life if they just melted down when God told them that they were going die at some point, but instead they accepted it and thrived and even, you know, started the human race. So actually the world started with the power of positive thinking. Also Noah, who rode a gigantic boat through a flood taller than Mount Everest. I don’t know about you but I would be kind of unnerved, and scared but no, not Noah. He stays calm and manages to keep over 100,000 animals calm also. So I’m incredibly impressed by his POSITIVE THINKING. Aren’t you?

I don’t know about you, but I don’t think I could do that. Do you think you could? If you think you can, wow you must be awesome. So positive thinking, I think I like it. But do and will you try to make a difference with it.

Good luck. 🙂

Our New Baby!

Hi, my name is Abishai, and today I’m going to tell you about a baby… my baby brother. On March 24 at 4:09 pm,  Sherlock Watson Powers was born into our ever growing family of awesomeness.

He has what I like to call baby acne because he has a bunch of bumps on his nose but combined with his little chubby cheeks it just adds up to CCCUUUUTTTTEEEEE!!!!

At first we had thought he was peeing blood but it turned out it was something called brick dust crystals. It was because he was dehydrated it only looked like blood.

Our grandparents came down to see our new baby. The offer was given to my grandma to cut the cord when the baby was born. She said it was a cool experience for her to accomplish.

My mom went to the hospital on Wednesday (March 23) to get induced but it did not affect her until the next day

(March 24) at 4:09 pm. Me, Benaiah, Gideon, and Astrid stayed at home the whole day doing school and waiting on that baby to come. Then Friday (March 25) we went to go see him and our mom at the hospital (Erlanger) and then we went to the hospital cafeteria for lunch. Then we went to the playground they made at the hospital. It was really fun. They had AstroTurf instead of grass. Luckily the AstroTurf was soft because Benaiah pushed me off the playground a lot. It was fun. The day after that we went back to the hospital to see mom again, but this time instead of going to the playground we went to the miniature golf course they have there. me, dad, and Benaiah did challenges on the course. It was fun.

That day the doctors said that mom and the baby could come home, so we pulled the car up. From there my grandparents left to go home, and we went home with the new addition to our ever growing family.

Another article came out about me in the Tennessee Valley Parents magazine and the contest I won at Chef Steps in Seattle…

Hi my name is Abishai.

Today I am going to tell you about my retirement plan. My career plan is to be in the UFC, but I have learned that mixed martial arts is a sport that you don’t stay in as an old man, so my retirement plan is to become IRON MAN. It has been a childhood and preteen dream of mine to create a flying crime-fighting suit of armor that I could use to protect the city I live in (wherever that is).

Last Sunday I don’t know what came over me, but I just really wanted to start working on it. So, my dad let me have a binder, and I started to draw designs for it like an arm brace, the chest plate, the helmet, and the energy source (it is going to be solar powered). Because my dad is a prepper I decided to go with solar power because, if the apocalypse does happen, I won’t have to find gas, diesel, or water. Part of my weapons arsenal on the suit is an electricity blaster, tranquilizer launcher, missile launcher, plasma blasters, and a frontward EMP blast. I’m also going to have an artificial intelligence unit inside my suit, and his name will be something unique or something complex. Ahh. I know what to call him. I’ll call him Bob. Perfect!

This is my retirement plan. Pretty boss, right?

Peace Out!

Guess what? The picture below is of me as a little dude with an almost real Iron man.
