Hi my name is Abishai.

Today I am going to be talking about a homeschool co-op that I go to every Friday called HEART. The HEART program is in Conway at a church called Christ Community Church. We do classes there.

These are our classes:

  • PE- In PE we do games like dodge ball and Chinese kickball.
  • Story Nory- In Story Nory they tell stories like Lazy Jack and the Watermelon Prince.
  • No Oven Baking- In this class we make tasty treats like rice crispy treats with no oven.
  • Minecraft- in Minecraft the teacher tells us to do stuff like build the Eiffel Tower or the Statue of Liberty.
  • Lego- Benaiah loves this class he builds stuff like ducks and pyramids.
  • Play-do- Both Benaiah and Gideon are in this class. They get to just play and build random stuff.
  • Geographic Landforms- In this class Benaiah learns about stuff like glaciers and valleys.
  • Musikgarten- In this class Gideon learns about music and different instruments. He really likes Ms Jane.
  • Bible for Gideon- In this class he learns Bible stories.

We also take a break for lunch. The last class of the day for me is Minecraft. That is the funnest class out of all of the classes at HEART.

My dad also teaches a class about him going around the world and my mom goes to a class in the morning called The Home Experience. It is a class where a bunch of women get together and chat.

I had a lot of fun this year, and I’m really looking forward to the Fall semester.

Me and my little brother won an award in the 2013 Zombie Survival STEM Challenge!

Here’s a pic of our award stickers from Nerd in the Brain

We just completed the Nerd in the Brain Zombie STEM Challenge! Here’s what it was…

The Mission:

Create a method of crossing a “river.”  Your creation must be able to support a standard vegetable can (15 to 16 ounces) and safely get your vegetable can across at least two feet of water.  Remember…you want to get your can across the “river” without leaving zombies a way to follow you! Supplies and building materials should cost no more than $10. $10 budget does not include tape, scissors, or glue.

Rules and Regulations:

  • Submissions may be from an individual or a team (class, family, etc.)

  • Supplies should not cost more than $10. If we suspect you’re sneaking in fancy, high-dollar supplies, you will be questioned. ;)  $10 maximum spending limit does not include glue, tape, or scissors.

  • Method of crossing “river” must support a standard can of vegetables (15 – 16 ounces).
  • Method of crossing “river” must be tested.  (If at first you don’t succeed, we encourage you to revise your plan and try again!)

Abishai’s Lego Project

Hi, I am Abishai.  I’m 7 years old. I got a Lego project to build while other kids are stuck in school. We built it at home. It was cool.

If you like Lego helicopters this is one you might like to build. It had 12 steps. Instead of buying it, come to me if you would like to borrow it. It is a 3-in-1 Lego project. It also makes an airplane and a boat. Both are very cool!

I don’t know if you have seen my big blog but check it out. This is just a little blog I started. Computer typing is boring, but it is a job that has to get done.

What is our name and do you like Legos?
